Our First Lady

“My ultimate goal for the New Sweet Home Temple of Deliverance COGIC, the community, and every life that I am allowed to touch; that we become Healthier, Happy and Healed through Jesus Christ.”

First Lady Evelyn Macklin is a native of Chicago, Illinois.  She is the only child born to Gloria and Ronald Colwell and was saved by the age of 11. Growing up in a Christian home afforded her opportunities to interact with various ministries. She was a faithful member of the choir, Sunday School and Youth Fellowship.

Lady Macklin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  In May of 1998, Lady Macklin obtained a Masters of Health Administration at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Where her experience lead her to Hospital Administration and Consulting.

With well over fifteen years of hospital finance experience, Lady Macklin works as a Revenue Cycle Director for Kaiser Permanente Foundational Hospitals – East Bay. While working for Kaiser, Lady Macklin has had the opportunity to participate in community work, serving as a mentor for high school students in the city of Richmond, CA.

Combining experience from Church and work, Lady Macklin has developed a passion for the Youth.  She started off working in the Youth Ministry as a Sunday School Teacher and later went on to develop a Mentoring Ministry at St. John Church under Pastor and Lady Davis. Currently, she serves at New Sweet Home and her goal is to win this lost generation fueled by our passion for Jesus. We should not find ourselves focusing on the duration of life, but the donation to life. God intended that we should live, participate in and contribute to His plan.

Lady Evelyn is the companion and wife of Pastor Albert Macklin, IV and dedicated mother of four children; Alec, Alissa, Ayden and Atticus.  Lady Macklin is a very loving and compassionate person who is unwavering in her support of family, holiness and sharing the love God has for us.

Lady Macklin has continued with her passion for ministry through commitment, faithfulness and dedication, supporting her husband and pastor. She serves as the Director for the Women’s Department and Children’s Sunday School Teacher.
